Abstract The formation, propagation, and detection of fatigue cracks are the key issues for life extension pressure pipelines metal welded joints. Especially in high-temperature high-pressure water environment nuclear power. Since interference measuring instruments noise would affect monitoring potential signals that characterize crack growth. Combined with relevant information various methods growth were analyzed, it can be seen Direct Current Potential Drop (DCPD) method has significant advantages many methods. Firstly, development history current situation research analyzed. Secondly, its basic principles problems summarized. Based on existing methods, real-time system was introduced, overall status evaluated which a reliable scientific basis numerical analysis reference provided this field.
